So many women stay in bad situations because they cannot afford to leave and/ or they they are to scared of the future starting over as a single individual. Most people don't want to deal with the emotional mess by giving the abused person a place to stay in their home. Going through something like that ain't no joke and will rock your entire world bringing you to your rock bottom.

I remember when I was in that situation, it was horrific! Funding was impossible to get and if you did get it, the wait list was almost a year. The local organizations were only able to provide counseling, a bed in a homeless shelter or money to stay in a hotel for one night. Not helpful or good enough in my book!
